World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrading of your items is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase the base damage as well as the enchantments of items.
They also provide bonus effects and enhancements. They can be purchased through the Blacksmith.
The upgrade button can be found on any item. Each item recycled adds a level to the upgrade gauge.
Weapon
When a weapon is upgraded, it receives a base damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Some upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional benefits. These upgrades can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets. The majority of them require that the equipment has an upgrade slot and meet certain requirements. The upgrade component can be removed from the weapon, armor or trinket, however it cannot be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be found through the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or high-tier salvaging tool on an item.
In addition to the standard upgrades, a weapon may be upgraded using the Calibration Attribute which improves certain stats like Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is done via the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be done four times, based on weapon level.
When the weapon reaches its maximum upgrade and is then modified to give different effects and bonuses or to boost specific stats. These upgrades can all be applied at once, and their effects will vary depending on how rare the weapon is.
There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the kind of damage a weapon deals.
It is generally recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, followed by armour defense, and then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not unusual to see melee Druids upgrade their weapon before upgrading other equipment. This can help increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments that increase a weapon's stats as well as damage.
Armor
Item Upgrades let players increase the stats base of certain armor pieces, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have additional effects such as increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, buying from NPC vendors and loot drop, or as quest rewards.
The armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currencies. Most armor upgrades to the next level following an upgrade. This is the case for most types of armor, though some items cannot be upgraded in any way (such as the starter armor in Great Sky Island).
The majority of armor upgrades boost the item's defense or strength by only a tiny amount. Some upgrade components, however can lead to significant increases in defense or strength. This is particularly true when upgrading epic items.
In addition to increasing the defense of an item, certain upgrades also give specific abilities that can be activated while wearing a piece of armor. These abilities can be useful in combat, such as providing a boost to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades also have passive effects, for instance cutting down on the amount of damage sustained when wearing armor, or giving you a the chance to avoid attacks.
Depending on the type of armor, upgrading an item may require multiple attempts. For instance for instance, if a player wants to upgrade a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale The first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with an initial defense range of the ages of 59-67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor with an initial defense of 67-77, and it goes on.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this, players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains located in the game. Each of these locations holds an incredibly powerful fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.
Contrary to popular opinion, armor in The Division 2 is not in any way useless. The reality is that certain armors provide significant increases in poison or curse, fire, or magical damage reduction, making them invaluable for certain builds. There are other methods to boost the stats of armor besides upgrading the armor, for instance using the engineer trait to increase armor penetration or the challenger to reduce total weight.
